Michigan State House · District 10
Thank you to everyone who supported this campaign. Whether you
volunteered your time, donated, voted, or offered words of
encouragement, you are the reason I stayed and fought so hard. Meeting
so many of you in person and hearing your stories has been an incredible
honor.
While this election didn't turn out as we had hoped, my candidacy ending does
not mean my work is over. When I started this adventure, I was motivated by
a vision of what politics could be. Seeing strangers come together at our community
Potluck Assemblies to talk through important issues, listen to one another,
and reach consensus brought that vision to life. That alone made this journey
more than worth it.
My campaign ends here, but I do not. I am who I am, and my beliefs don't disappear
with this election. Democracy doesn't just happen on Election Day. Because
of that, I will continue holding Potluck Assemblies to ensure our community
always has a united voice. Over the coming weeks, I will be exploring new,
non-partisan avenues to engage politically and work with organizations across
Metro Detroit and Michigan. I will update this website soon with more information.
I also want to extend my kudos to Ryan Nelson for his strong campaign, and
congratulations to Veronica Paiz on her victory. Veronica is a strong candidate
who cares deeply about this district. She will continue to serve our community
well, she has earned my support, and I believe we should unite behind her
in November.
On a personal note, to the many people who told me they want to see a better
version of politics: I know the results are a let-down, but I plan to prove
that I am not one to back away from challenges. I've overcome many obstacles
in my life, and I don't plan on stopping anytime soon.
Thank you for giving me a chance and for believing in me.
